I hail from the island of Wood, Water and Sunshine - JAMAICA.
A Strong, Confident, and Independent Jamaican woman.
Mother (biologically of 2 - surrogate to half the student body where I am employed), International Feminist, Coumminty Activist, Student, and Lover of all things Caribbean.
Migrated to the states with my parents and siblings and have lived in the Chicago area most of my life.
I am the Festival Director of the Chitown JerkFest (June 6, 2009), the CEO/Founder of the Miss Midwest Caribbean Scholarship Pageant (June 26-27, 2009) in honor of Caribbean American Heritage Month (JUNE)and the publisher of the Midwest Caribbean Network E-zine.
Here to network and hopefully create dialogue that will effectuate change in the Caribbean region.
Who I'd like to meet: MY ANCESTORS - To take a line from the movie Amistad "I AM THE REASON WHY MY FOREFATHERS EXISTED." I would love to be able to discuss the obstacles they had to overcome in order for me to become the woman that I am today.

Hobbies & interests
MUSIC: All genres execpt Blues and Acid Rock. Particular preference is Reggae, Soca, Reggaeton, Punta, anything Frank Sinatra and the Big Band Era
MOVIES: Dont do movies, cant sit that long without falling asleep...would much rather want to curl up with any book besides Romance Novels (dont do those either)
INTERESTS: Community Service - Giving Back to those less fortunate Promoting all things Caribbean
DREAMS: To unite Midwest Caribbeans and facilitate trade between Midwest America and the Caribbean region
TV: 48 Hours, CSI: Miami and NY; CNN, Discovery, TLC and A & E
BOOKS: Favorites - Of all times "THE BIBLE" - Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich; Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends & Influence People; Robert Kiosaki's "Rich Man, Poor Man Series; Tim LaHaye's Left Behind Series. Any book that enriches, empowers and educates.
SPORTS: American Football especially college...love the cross town rivalaries: ie: Florida vs Florida State; Michigan vs Michigan State...and without a doubt The Nitty Lions of Penn State and Joe Paterno's boys will take the trophy this year....OK so there is always next year
