Bring a blanket, folding chair and picnic basket and enjoy a film under the stars!

The Institute of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture (IPRAC) presents the Puerto Rican Short Film Program as part of its Puerto Rican Film Series 2009. The Puerto Rican Film Series is a FREE outdoor film festival showcasing film work by new and established Puerto Rican directors. The Puerto Rican Short Film Program opens Saturday August 22 at dusk (8:00PM) and it is presented at the renovated Humboldt Park Stables 3015 West Division Street. The Puerto Rican Film Series has become a Chicago summer favorite counting visitors from all over the Midwest at each screening. Families with their pets, couples and friends bring their picnic baskets, folding chairs, blankets and enjoy of great cultural entertainment under the stars. The film series is now presented at the renovated Humboldt Park Stables—a historic landmark building dating 1890’s that is now home for IPRAC. Visitors can stroll through the gallery and see the exhibit of Puerto Rican painter Pablo Marcano before the beginning of the screening. IPRAC offers free parking, free popcorn and free admission to its programs. The Institute of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture (IPRAC) is devoted to the promotion, integration and advancement of the Puerto Rican arts and culture. The Puerto Rican Film Series 2009 is presented in collaboration with the Chicago Park District and the Chicago Children’s Museum and receives financial support from the City of Chicago Cultural Outreach Program and the Illinois Arts Council.
