The evening begins with an exclusive networking reception inside Lyric Opera, where guests can connect in an elegant setting before enjoying a remarkable performance.
This spring, the Lyric Opera of Chicago presents El último sueño de Frida y Diego, a visually stunning production inspired by the legendary Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
Set during Día de los Muertos, the story imagines an emotional reunion beyond life itself. Frida returns from the underworld for 24 fleeting hours to reunite with Diego, who remains in the world of the living—still grieving her loss. Their passionate and complex relationship unfolds through music, imagery, and surreal storytelling inspired by Mexican culture and artistic legacy.
