Synopsis: ¡Sonó, Sonó...Tite Curet! is dedicated to renowned Puerto Rican composer Catalino Curet Alonso, best known as “Tite.” The film explores Tite’s message and recounts his musical journey, revisiting symbolic places from his life, featuring spectacular landscapes in Puerto Rico, Venezuela and New York, a place where some of the world’s most recognized salsa musicians gathered. Artists participating in this musical tribute include: Calle 13, Danny Rivera, Rubén Blades, Andy Montañez, Cheo Feliciano, Jerry Medina with Roberto Roena, Apollo Sound, Tego Calderón, Yuba Iré, Cultura Profética, Michael Stuart, Viento de Agua, Lalo Rodríguez with Truco and Zaperoko.

The Mexican Film Festival of the Americas (MFFA) is an new exhibition, performance and educational event, hosted by the Binational Institute of Human Development, dedicated to supporting and cultivating all aspects of Mexican Cinema, including emerging and cutting edge Mexican films with the emphasis on discovering new filmmakers from Mexico  and abroad. For nine days, September 20 – 28, the MFFA will screen Mexican cinematic jewels, past and present, as well as the most cutting edge fiIms made by fiIm makers from Mexico or those of Mexican descent, worldwide.
