JAPAN: FROM DESTRUCTION TO RECONSTRUCTION
...A fundraiser aiding the relief movement towards re-building the land of the rising sun.
This is an event organized through a collaborative effort by M&J Products and Las Caras Lindas of Chicago.
On March 11th, 2011, a devastating earthquake occurred in Japan, leaving thousands displaced, hungry, and dead. Almost immediately, a tsunami of extraordinary size devoured large parts of the country. To add to the horrors, nuclear meltdowns and radiation are a REAL on-going threat that challenge the people of Japan (and the world).
On April 21st, we are not only raising awareness of the issues our Japanese brothers encounter, but also funds that will directly go to the people of Japan in aiding the following:
1) finding shelter
2) providing basic food and water
3) keeping search crews prominent to avoid trafficking of women and children
4) basic health care to many
5) fostering technology services to stay active
along with countless other ways of helping.

Art exhibition of jewelry, paintings, and drawings by diverse local artists
Sampling and enjoying of fine, Puerto Rican cuisine
Spoken word by some of the finest young women of LCL.
Silent auction of different artwork incorporating the theme "hope, change, and prosperity"
ORIGAMI PAPER CRANES symbolizing peace, tranquility, and prosperity made specifically for guests to spread the positive vibes all around. EVERYONE is welcome to make paper cranes, a traditional symbol for:

recovery from injury/illness
