The International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago and Aldo Castillo Gallery present... 3+3=6 Three Women, Three Men, Expressing Six Ibero American Countries. This 5th annual exhibition highlights six established Iberoamerican artists, many of whom are showing at the Aldo Castillo for the first time. Each artist brings a fresh perspective on his or her region of the Latin and Spanish world. These six juxtaposing pictorial views, in combination, will provide Chicagoans with a better understanding of contemporary Spanish and Latin American culture and society through artistic expression. The project is presented by the International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago, known for its Chicago Latino Film Festival, and curated by the Aldo Castillo Gallery, a city leader in the arts. Both organizations are thrilled to be participating in what has now become an annual exhibit, as it is a wonderful opportunity to showcase Latino culture. The ILCC and the Aldo Castillo Gallery feel that shows like 3+3=6 are an important part of creating a world where all cultures' artistic and intellectual manifestations are celebrated with forums for discussion, education and exhibition. Each of the six artists their dedication is to displaying and preserving their heritage through contemporary art. 2009 participating artists are: Carolina Sardi (Argentina), Jorge Salas (Venezuela), Miguel Gomez (Dominican Republic), Esperanza Gonzalez (Spain), Maria Navas (Colombia) and Oscar Centurion (Paraguay).
