Background/Education/Experience

I work for an investment management firm in Los Angeles that's a great company to work for. I really lucked out finding this company after having only lived in this city for a month. I've been part of the recruiting function for almost five years and have been a corporate recruiter for a year and a half. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois @Champaign-Urbana (class of 2003) and I'm currently preparing for the admissions process for my MBA. Although I am actively employed, I always welcome an opportunity to network with others and hear about what other opportunities are out there...

Organizations & clubs

I am a Fulfillment Fund Mentor, which is a college access program with three goals: 1) Help disadvantaged students graduate from high school; 2) Increase the number who go on to college; and 3) Help them successfully complete college and transition into the working world. As a mentor, my goal is to help my mentee reach her potential by graduating from high school. Hopefully I can become a positive force in her life. I volunteer with Everybody Wins! - a literacy program geared towards building the skills and love for reading among low-income elementary students. I also volunteer with the Lange Foundation - an animal rescue center, where I take the dogs for walks or play with the kitties during my lunch hour. It's a nice way to break up the day.

Hobbies & interests

I love to cook and my specialty is Mexican comfort food with a healthy twist. I really enjoy watching people enjoy something I just created from scratch, knowing that they can't even tell the difference if the enchilada or tortilla they're eating is baked and not fried or that the pozole their savoring was made with skinless chicken breast instead of pork. Other things I enjoy are wine tasting, going on hikes with my husband and our dog, Maxine, and SHOPPING!!
